Register for Cuts for Cancer 2008
Thank you for considering participating in Cuts for Cancer!
Online registration is still open, however as it is so close to the event we may not be able to schedule an appointment for you. If you do not receive an email or phone call specifying an appointment time, you have not been scheduled -- but we encourage you to stop by the event and see if you can be scheduled as a drop in. Thank you!
Please read the following thoroughly before signing up for the event.
This year's Cuts for Cancer will be held on
Monday, March 10th, 2008 from 9:30am to 4:00pm
in the Main Concourse of the Student Union Building
of the University of British Columbia.
How to get to the Student Union Building:
Instructions for Signing Up:
- All fields must be filled in.
- A minimum of 8" of hair in good condition is necessary to
donate your hair for wig-making. Please wash and dry your hair
the morning of the event. Further hair requirement details
can be found here.
- If you are donating your hair and receiving a hair cut
(and not shaving), select the "Cut only" option.
- If you are donating your hair and would like to shave off the rest, select the "Cut and Shave" option.
- If you do not wish to cut off a full 8", you can choose to have your
hair styled in support for a minimum donation of $25.
- You can also choose to shave in support (if you do not have 8" of
hair to donate) for a minimum donation of $10.
- There are many more ways in which you can come out and support the
fight against cancer -- including a raffle, for which the first prize
is a pair of tickets to see the Canucks take on the Minnesota Wild on March 21st! Getting your
hair cut or shaved will automatically win you entries in the raffle.

- Please provide a minimum 2 hour window of availability between 9:30am and 4:00pm
for us to schedule your appointment. We will do our best to
accomodate any preferences you may have.
- If you cannot attend the event on March 10th, you can still
donate your hair. Instructions on how to prepare and send in your hair
can be found here.
Signing Up as a Team:
- Please contact Jessica at president@cutsforcancer.net
if you and your friends would like to sign up as a team. We will do
our best to arrange it so that you can donate your hair at or around the
same time!
- If your team is registered already, please enter your team name in the
appropriate field.
About Pledges:
- The pledge form for collecting money is here:

- Tax receipts will be issued by the Canadian Cancer Society for all donations
of $10 or more. Please ensure that the information on the pledge form is
COMPLETE and LEGIBLE.
- Bring your completed pledge sheets and donations with you to the sign in
desk the day of the event. Additional pledges can be dropped up to 2 weeks
after the event.
- The person or team which raises the greatest amount of money will receive
their name engraved on our Hair Bowl, a trophy that will forever commemmorate
your contribution to the fight against cancer. You will also receive a
special prize from us!
